Wing of the Ajuda National Palace built to house the Royal Treasury Museum is inaugurated
More than 200 years after the first stone of the Ajuda National Palace was laid, the wing built to house the Royal Treasury Museum has finally been inaugurated.
Over the years, the west wing of the Ajuda National Palace suffered several delays and changes to the original design. The space will now house the first national museum to be built from scratch since the 1980s, which is ready to receive the almost 1,000 pieces that will fill the vault of the Royal Treasury Museum.
The more than 7,000 square metres, built with around 1,000 tonnes of steel, await the arrival of the jewels, gold and diamonds from Brazil and other national treasures of the new museum, which opens its doors to the public in November.
The project is the result of an agreement between the State, Turismo de Lisboa and Lisbon City Council, and cost 31 million euros.
Pórtico carried out the Management, Supervision and Site Safety Coordination of the works.
The news was featured in several media outlets, including RTP, SIC and TVI. Report available in the image.
